Clarion 200k 2day only 3 riders on the start line Tony Bowles, Brian Tims and me. Tony hands out the maps town hall rings 8 o clock wear off. This is a really tough reliability ride first 70 miles all hill.
Tony instructs us to leave him on the Bradshaw climb im,afaid its the god of thunder v,s the Shlecks.tony,s on a steel barge with a weekend away bag,Im,on a carbon race moda,Brians in between.first stop Barley toilets on to Chatburn , catch a large group of Bolton hot wheels on the A 59 ontheir way to Malham.
Long preston to slaidburn hard work into the wind ,the stiff climb to Newton made Brians legs burn.Lunch at village hall dunsop bridge, boundery hill stop at top too look at Bill Bradbury memorial plaque,through the trough and over the Jubilee tower down to Quernmoor.
Brian needs some descending lessons from Tony the last of the late brakers. on to the A6 and the fylde loop,St.Michaels and the lanes to Preston,ice cream in avenham park,that did the trick,Brian even did a turn on the front Bolton town hall 5.25 p.m.Brians got a hot date on the dance floor.
